Hypnotherapy for IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Grantham and Newark
IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is one of the outstanding success stories in Medical Hypnotherapy.
Up to eight million people in Britain suffer from IBS, with symptoms including diarrhoea, pain and bloating.
The condition can seriously affect the quality of people`s lives and finding effective treatment can be very difficult.
Hypnotherapy for IBS in Nottingham, Lincoln, Newark and Grantham with Dr. Millett is very helpful as it lowers the general level of anxiety, it reduces the perception of pain and discomfort.
It directs positive images and thoughts and suggestions to the gut.
Hypnotherapy has a long history of remarkable effectiveness in lowering anxiety levels and also in pain reduction which can be extremely beneficial as that dramatically improves the quality of life.
Initially, the hypnosis treatment will reduce the effects of stress on the body helping you to deeply relax, lowering your heart rate and blood pressure and relaxing muscle tension throughout your body. Hypnosis is a relaxed and focused state of mind and most clients can be trained to enter this state of deep relaxation in just a few sessions.
Once you know how, most clients can induce a self-hypnotic state at any convenient time during their day to allow themselves to enter a deep state of relaxation when appropriate.
This helps you to relax, easing the symptoms if they are triggered by stress.
Secondly, IBS hypnotherapy sessions in Grantham will uncover the root cause of this underlying stress and reprogramme your unconscious mind with positive thoughts and messages to the stress triggers which continues for you long after your sessions are completed.
Michael also uses gut directed hypnotherapy and guided imagery in the treatment.
If you think you might have IBS then the first thing to do is visit your GP to get a diagnosis and medical advice.
Once your GP has established that it is IBS and believes that hypnotherapy could help you, then please contact Dr. Michael Millett.
How Many Treatments ?
There is an initial session of 90 minutes followed usually by five one hour sessions spread over approximately 12 weeks.
The number of sessions and the duration of the therapy is dependant in many cases on the willingness of the client to practice self hypnosis and other tools, and advice given in the first few sessions of hypnotherapy.
However, some people like the support of weekly sessions to begin with and Michael is happy to arrange that with you if you wish.
There is continual evidence that hypnotherapy is effective as an IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) treatment and it is recommended for chronic IBS.
The Department of Health recommends you choose a CNHC registered hypnotherapist.
