‘Resonant Entrainment’ techniques with Dr. Michael G Millett
Michael has always been at the forefront of new developments in his work and within therapy generally.
Today Michael uses the latest digital sound equipment with specialist headphones in his hypnotherapy and meditation work.
He also sometimes uses ‘resonant entrainment’ techniques encompassing Binaural, Monaural and Isochronic frequencies, Hemisphere Cross Talk, Schumann Resonance and Solfeggio frequencies mixed in with beautiful background music for some sessions on request from clients who believe strongly in the power of these frequencies.
Entrainment techniques have been around for a very long time.
Tibetan Tingsha Meditation Bells and Himalayan Tingsha Cymbals are used by many people to help them with prayer, rituals and sound healing and enter into meditative states of mind. Shamanic drumming has also been used to help participants enter into trance-like states.
Many of my clients say they find the ‘resonant entrainment’ techniques I use, useful to help them to relax and enter states of consciousness that allows for deeper shifts, change, learning, energising, healing and expansion to occur more readily (‘resonant entrainment’ of course is optional in sessions with Michael).
Entrainment, in the context of psychoacoustics, concerns changing the rate of brain waves, breath, or heartbeats from one speed to another through exposure to external, periodic rhythms.
Hemisphere Cross Talk is said to pan between the left and right ears to promote neurological activity between the two hemispheres of the brain.
The Schumann Resonance with its frequency vibrating at a pulse of 7.83 Hz is said to be the heartbeat of mother earth and believed by many to be beneficial for physical and psychological health.
Solfeggios harmonics and frequencies refer to a belief that a set of nine frequencies derived from numerology were used centuries ago in Gregorian and Sanskrit chants,
and are said to contain within them the power of creation and transformation.
Like all music, they are believed to have the capacity to effect matter and consciousness and create positive shifts to those in proximity to them.
Michael has noticed himself personally that adding Isochronic Tones with this sound technology to the ambience music in his own meditations, enhances the meditative experience for him.
Michael is not a scientist nor a `sound specialist` and is not making any claims here that brainwave entrainment, binaural beats and other frequencies effect a specific or special change in the brain’s electrical response to this particular rhythmic sensory stimulation, any more than any other kind of music and sound, but many clients love them, and say they augment their experience, and report an increased sense of overall peace, and well-being during and after his hypnotherapy, Reiki and meditation sessions when he uses them !! Interesting !
Indeed, he is unaware of any full scale scientific proof that entrainment actually works. Such a study is extremely costly and is usually why only pharmaceutical companies can usually fund such studies. However, there is a wealth of good quality research for your consideration that has already been performed by independent scientists on the benefits of brainwave entrainment and meditation techniques.
