10 tips for more self-confidence
Many people have little self-confidence and do not know exactly what they can do to increase their self-confidence.
They can feel like they are stuck with it and there is nothing that can be done about it !!
Below are 10 good and helpful and formulated self-confidence tips to help with gaining more self-confidence in your life apart from the wonderful and fast-acting treatments of Hypnotherapy for confidence, EFT for confidence, NLP for confidence, Psychotherapy for confidence, Life-Coaching for confidence and Metaphysical Science for confidence to help you for increasing self confidence and self esteem.
Tip 1 – gratitude and own your successes
Begin by keeping a list of things which have resulted in success for you and mentally list everything you can be grateful for such as your unique skills, loving relationships, and positive memories.
Think about them often and enjoy remembering them.
By reminding yourself of these successes, you aim more at the positive. Gratitude helps you to shift negative thoughts to positive ones and positive thoughts prevent negative emotions. Also when you focus too much on what you want, the mind creates reasons why you can’t have what you want.
This leads you to focus too much on your weaknesses.
The best way to avoid this is to often consciously focus on gratitude where you focus your thoughts on what has and is working in your life and this can help you to motivate you and make further positive change.
Tip 2 – don`t be too hard on yourself
Do not force yourself into difficult situations. Do not push yourself for example to go to a party with crowds of people if you are not comfortable with the idea.
Focus on developing a friendship with one person or a particular person initially beginning with a simple conversation and consider in advance where you want it to go.
Be proud of yourself if this has been a success for you.
Tip 3 – know your virtues
Learn to know what you can do and what you are good at. What are your strengths and talents?
Identify your signature strengths and bring them into play in as many ways as you can. Using your strengths is the smallest thing you can do to make the biggest difference ! The key to identifying your strengths is to think about the kinds of things that make you feel most alive, that feel like “the real you.” They are the sorts of things that you look forward to doing, that catch your interest the most, that you learn most easily and do quite naturally and well.
Try to break down situations, so you can see these virtues.
Commit to things that matter to you and give your life purpose.
Tip 4 – accept compliments
Getting compliments are possible and learning to accept them considerably increases your self-confidence.
Accept these compliments and make an effort to regularly compliment others, this ensures you develop appreciation.
By looking for the best in others, you indirectly bring out the best in yourself.
Tip 5 – being perfectly imperfect
People produce many of their best achievements when they are striving to do their best. It is OK to want to be a better person but you must accept that making mistakes and risking failure are part of the achievement process – and part of being human.
You can be a high achiever without being a perfectionist.
View mistakes as opportunities for growth and learning and always try to react positively to constructive feedback.
Tip 6 – improve your body language
A simple tip is to pay attention to your body language. Are you open or closed, do you hold eye contact?
Improving your body language can make a big difference in your people skills, attractiveness and general feeling.
Notice how you sit, how you stand, how you use you hands and legs, what you do while talking to someone ?
Keep your head up straight and your eyes towards the horizon. Relax your shoulders. Walk slower which not only makes you seem more calm and confident, it will also make you feel less stressed. It is possible to change your body language but with all new habits it will take a while to become automatic.
Tip 7 – anger when things go wrong
Getting angry with yourself will solve nothing. Being determined to learn from what went wrong and either fix or prevent it from happening again is more productive and the only way to go.
Everything is a learning experience and the more we learn the better prepared we are to make different choices in the future.
Getting angry doesn’t help, it just makes a situation much worse.
Tip 8 – dress well and exercise
Take care of your personal appearance and buy clothes that you feel comfortable in and flatter your size, shape and colouring.
Also physical fitness has a huge effect on self confidence. By working out, you improve your physical appearance, energize yourself, and accomplish something positive.
Tip 9 – connect with successful people
Join a group, club or an association. This may sound like common sense but people tend to join the wrong groups or don’t even join a group in the first place.
By joining effective groups, you are gaining exposure and wisdom with other successful people in your group. Learn from them rather than feeling yourself threatened.
They will motivate you.
Tip 10 – invest in yourself
Knowledge and skills increase your self-confidence. Invest in your own development: follow a course or a training, listen to a motivational speech.
Take steps to boost your self-esteem by doing some therapy like Hypnotherapy for confidence, EFT for confidence, NLP for confidence, Psychotherapy for confidence, Life-Coaching for confidence and Metaphysical Science for confidence to help overcome negative self-talk and a poor self-image and many other aspects of lack of confidence.
Reads books such as an autobiography of a successful person, or look at similar documentaries.
Research what interests you and this will unconsciously help raise your self-confidence over time.
